The Ercoupe Rescue Cooperative Presents

Parts for Sale!

Air Coop Blues

With apologies to A. Jackson

Well if I had money, tell you what I'd do,
Go to Tucumcari, buy an Air Coop or two.
Crazy `bout an Air Coop, Lord I'm crazy `bout an Air Coop
Gonna buy me an Air Coop and cruise it all around the skys!

There they are - sitting in the New Mexican sun. In the barns beside these derelicts lies all kinds of good stuff!

I purchased my Ercoupe in 1993 form the "Used Ercoupe Lot" in Tucumcari. I went through there on another mission in May, 2006, and called Stan Jennings. He had closed the "lot" because airport rent got too expensive. Some city councils think an airport is a cash cow, and will butcher it at the first opportunity! He only had one `coupe in flyable condition at the airport, but had parts for many more in an old pig farm close by.

This is the barns at the farm. They are just south of Interstate 40. If you look quick, you can even catch a glimpse of some `coupes out back as you drive by. Driving instructions later.

This is the "poster child" of the collection. Just about ready to fly. Recovered wings sit beside it and you can take your pick of empennage.

Since "a picture is worth a thousand words" and I'm basically lazy. Pictures of Center Sections,,,

And fuselages.
Note the interesting idea of putting the electrical switches over head.

Now for wings, ailerons and wing tanks.
For those of you who read my piece entitled "Got Tanked" on ercoupe.org, you know what problems finding
a wing tank can be. Here are some all ready to go (Caveat Emptor!)

Engines and empannage are next.

Every thing from instrument panel to main landing gear!

If you go, contact Stan Jennings at his furniture store during the day: (505) 461-2700. Evenings call (505) 461-1166. Call before you come, and tell him Percy sent you.

By car, take Interstate 40. The exit you want is number 339; it is east of Tucumcari. After leaving the freeway, go towards the south. There is a service road that parallels the Interstate; take that west. Go 1.2 miles (on my odometer, at least) and look for the Airstream trailor on the south side of the road. Mailing address:
